🔒 Privacy-first by design. Most of your trade data stays on your device. We only sync to the cloud when you sign in, and we never sell or share your trading information with third parties for marketing.
1. Who We Are
TraderCab ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at tradercab.com and provides a trading journal service to traders worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
This policy complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India, and applicable global privacy standards (GDPR for EU users).
2. What We Collect

2.3 Payment Information
When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your credit/debit card numbers, UPI PIN, or bank login credentials. We receive only a transaction confirmation and payment ID from Razorpay.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect strictly for the following purposes:
- Service delivery — to provide the trading journal features you signed up for
- Authentication — to verify your identity via email OTP and protect your account
- Subscription management — to track plan status and grant feature access
- Communication — to send transactional emails (OTP, payment receipts, password reset)
- Security — to detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Legal compliance — to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
- Service improvement — to fix bugs and improve features based on aggregated, anonymized usage
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to anyone, ever
- Use your trade data to train AI models or for any analytics outside of providing your own dashboard to you
- Share your information with advertisers or marketing platforms
- Track you across other websites
4. Third-Party Services
To deliver the service, we rely on the following carefully selected providers. Each has their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review:

None of these providers are authorized to use your data for any purpose other than providing the contracted service to TraderCab.
5. Data Storage & Security
5.1 Where your data lives
- The majority of your trade data is stored locally on your device in your browser's storage
- When you sign in, a synced copy is stored in Google Firebase (servers located in India / Asia-Pacific region)
- Payment records are retained by Razorpay as required by Indian financial regulations
5.2 Security measures
- All connections use TLS 1.3 encryption (HTTPS)
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms — we never see or store your actual password
- Firestore security rules prevent users from accessing each other's data
- API keys and secrets are stored as encrypted environment variables, never in client code
- OTP verification is required for sensitive actions like trade edits and account changes
⚠️ No system is 100% secure. While we take strong precautions, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is impenetrable. Always use a strong, unique password and enable email OTP.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
TraderCab uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to:
- Keep you signed in across sessions
- Save your trade data locally for offline access
- Remember your display preferences (theme, performance mode)
- Cache market data to reduce load times
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics services like Google Analytics. You can clear local storage anytime from your browser settings.
7. Your Rights
You have full control over your data. You can:
- Access — view all your data via the in-app Settings → Data Management
- Export — download your full trade history as JSON anytime
- Correct — edit any incorrect information in your profile or trades
- Delete — permanently delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Object — request that we stop processing your data for any non-essential purpose
- Withdraw consent — for processing that is based on your consent

8. Children's Privacy
TraderCab is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary:
- Active accounts: data is retained while your account is active
- Closed accounts: data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for 7 years per Indian tax law)
- Marketing emails: we don't send marketing emails — only transactional ones tied to your account
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. For material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
